A Mozaik alternative
that opens anywhere you do.

Mozaik and Manufacture aim at the same shop: the custom cabinet maker who designs, quotes and cuts under one roof. This page is the plain comparison — where the two overlap, and where Manufacture takes a different line on platform, quoting and how construction rules are written.

WHAT IT IS

Where Mozaik sits.

Mozaik is a Windows cabinet design and manufacturing package aimed squarely at small and mid-size shops, sold on a subscription with modules covering design, doors and machining. It has a strong following among shops that wanted CNC output without an enterprise-scale purchase, and a user community that is genuinely helpful.

It is a fair comparison to make. The differences worth your time are structural rather than feature-by-feature.

THE DIFFERENCE

What Manufacture does differently.

BROWSER, WINDOWS, MAC

Not a Windows-only install. Sign in from a browser or run the desktop app on Windows or Mac; everyone in the shop is on the current version because there is only one.

THE CLIENT SEES IT IN 3D

Publishing a design gives your client a living link: the real kitchen in 3D on their phone, priced by room, with each revision landing on the same link and the change spelled out.

FORMULAS, NOT JUST SETTINGS

Dimensions, drilling, routing, hardware and banding run on formulas and conditions you can open and edit — as deep as your construction goes, not only as deep as the settings screen goes.

ONE PRODUCT, NOT MODULES

Design, quoting, nesting and machining are the same product on the same model. A design change flows to the sheet and the quote without an export step in between.

BEFORE YOU SWITCH

What to actually compare.

If you are running Mozaik today, these are the questions that will tell you whether moving is worth the disruption — and the honest answers for our side of it.

YOUR MACHINE

Standard 3-axis ISO dialects work out of the box, and we import the post processor from your current software so the output speaks the language your controller already reads.

YOUR CONSTRUCTION

If your shop's rule can be written down, it can be parametric here — reveals, dados, banding, drilling patterns, custom hardware. That is what we test together in the first session, with one of your real cabinets.

YOUR PRICING

Quoting is built in and versioned, priced by room, with a change-order trail rather than a spreadsheet you maintain alongside the design.

YOUR EXIT

Cut lists, labels, programs and quotes export as plain files. If you leave, you leave with them.

STRAIGHT ABOUT IT

Where Mozaik is the stronger pick.

Mozaik has been shipping to shops for years, and that shows in the places a young product cannot fake: accumulated edge cases, a large user community, training material made by other users, and a catalog of machining behaviour hardened by thousands of shops. We are in early preview and onboarding a few shops at a time.

If you are Windows-only, happy with your current output, and your shop is not feeling the friction of quoting outside the design tool, there is no urgent reason to move. The shops this fits are the ones who want the client-facing side and the machining side to be the same system, and who have people working on something other than a Windows desktop.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Questions this raises.

CAN I IMPORT MY MOZAIK LIBRARY?
Not as a file import. The standard cabinet set ships with the account with its options, so most shops start there and adjust the construction to match what they already build — which is the part we do with you during onboarding.
DO I NEED A WINDOWS PC?
No. It runs in a browser on whatever the shop already owns, and as a desktop app on Windows and Mac.
DOES IT OUTPUT G-CODE FOR MY CNC?
Yes — nesting with grain respected, cut lists, part labels and G-code in your machine's own dialect, including tool changes and boring blocks, from the same model the design and the quote come from.
HOW IS IT PRICED?
Month to month, priced for small shops, with no five-figure buy-in and no maintenance contract. Preview shops see the numbers before launch and keep their rate.

EARLY PREVIEW — A FEW SHOPS AT A TIME

Bring a job you already built.

The first session is your job on your machine: we set up your materials and your post processor with you, then build a cabinet you have already cut and compare the output to the program that made it.
