Cabinet nesting software is usually the last stop in a chain: design in one tool, export, optimise in another, and hand-fix the difference. Here the nest is downstream of the model itself — parts land on sheets with grain respected, on a CNC router or a saw, and when the design changes the sheet changes with it.

The nester is working from the cabinet, not from a pile of imported rectangles. It knows which face shows, which edge takes banding, which way the grain has to run and which operations still have to happen to the part — so the sheet it produces is one the shop can actually cut, on whichever machine breaks the sheet down.
Change a cabinet width upstream and the affected parts re-nest. There is no re-export, and no second file that quietly goes stale on the shop-floor PC.
GRAIN RESPECTED
Parts that have to run with the grain do. Direction is a property of the part, carried from the design rather than set by hand at nesting time.
CUT LISTS
Printed cut lists off the same model, so the list, the sheet and the program never disagree about what is being made.
PART LABELS
Labels for the parts coming off the machine, so the crew assembling knows which panel belongs to which cabinet.
BILL OF MATERIALS
The BOM for the job — sheet goods, edge bands and hardware — generated from what the design actually uses.

Saw machines get their own nester, not a router nest you squint at. Every cut runs clear across the piece it divides, laid out as a rip, crosscut and trim tree, with one blade kerf per cut line and grain enforced the same way it is on the router side.
BOOK CUTTING
Identical patterns stack and cut in one pass. The book is planned across the whole job, so the same panel in six different cabinets is found and stacked — and each blank still comes off labelled for the cabinet it belongs to.
CUTTING DIAGRAMS
For a saw shop these are the program: each pattern printed with its parts and numbered cut lines, and a book printed once with a book-of-N callout.
CUT SEQUENCE
The ordered steps with the fence setting for each cut, grouped so identical rip fences batch across sheets instead of sending the operator back and forth.
SIMULATED FIRST
Play the cut program back before anything is cut, cut by cut, and see the sheet come apart the way it will on the machine.

On the router side, nesting and posting are the same step rather than two products with a file between them. The nested sheet posts as G-code in your machine's own dialect, tool changes and boring blocks included.
